After the release of their first Demo Tape in early 2011, ronaldraygun quickly began attracting attention for their idiosyncratic sound and atypical approach to the "band" concept. Booking requests and blog & local press coverage prompted the synthpunk trio to rush back into the studio to record more material.

The result was somewhat of a 'raygun answer to "Their Satanic Majesties Request" - a well-intentioned exploration of sonic possibilities, which in hindsight may have been a bit too Out There. The synth-heavy forays (with lyrics about comic books, american culture, and sexual deviance) also proved difficult to perform live. And though the EP articulated ideas the group had been experimenting with in their basement for several years, it quickly became apparent that much of it should have stayed downstairs.

Almost immediately, the group scrapped the EP - as well as the synthesizers (a major component since the group's inception) entirely. They then brought on a new vocalist and 2nd guitarist, and began heading in the more straight-forward rock direction heard on later releases.

The FEARCHANGE ep is now available again, for no good reason other than for posterity, and for anyone who might be curious about where ronaldraygun came from, and in an alternate universe, where they may have gone.
